Image of three smiling children sitting outdoors and eating slices of watermelon. Above them is a quote that reads, “When we give through research, we give future generations a chance at safer, more inclusive medicine.” The background is a soft gradient of green and teal with small leaf illustrations. At the bottom, the Kalo Clinical Research logo appears with the tagline “In gratitude, we thrive!” and the website kaloresearch.com.

When Giving Tuesday first began in 2012, it wasn’t created by a corporation or a large foundation. It started in a community center in New York, guided by a simple observation:

After days of holiday shopping and consumer frenzy, people needed a moment to reconnect with generosity, humanity, and one another.

The idea was small but powerful:

What if we had one day dedicated not to buying, but to giving?

What happened next surprised the world.

A single idea sparked a global movement, bringing millions of people together—across cultures, ages, and countries—to give in ways that create lasting impact.

That spirit of showing up for others is deeply connected to the work we do at Kalo Clinical Research.

Giving That Reaches Beyond a Season

When someone chooses to join a clinical research study, they’re offering a gift that extends far beyond a single day or a single act. They’re giving something to the future—something medicine genuinely needs.

Clinical research only moves forward when real people choose to take part. Their involvement helps researchers understand health conditions more clearly, refine treatments, and ensure the data behind tomorrow’s medicine reflects the people it serves.

In communities that have historically been left out of research—Pacific Islander, Hispanic, Black, Indigenous—participation becomes even more meaningful.

It closes gaps.

It builds equity.

It shapes safer, more effective care for generations.

This is giving with purpose.

A Safe, Supported, People-First Experience

We know research can feel unfamiliar. That’s why we meet every participant with clarity, dignity, and respect.

Here’s what you can expect at Kalo:

No insurance needed

Study-related care at no cost

Compensation may be available

Privacy & consent come first

Our team walks with you, step by step—answering questions, explaining the process in plain language, and honoring your choices.Participation is always voluntary. You’re always in control.

This is not about being a “test subject.” This is about being a partner in progress.

Giving as Legacy

Joining a study may feel like a small personal decision, but its impact is far-reaching.

Your involvement can help shape:

  • Future treatment options

  • More inclusive data

  • Safer healthcare outcomes

  • A more equitable medical system

It is a gift to your community.

A gift to future families.

A gift to science itself.
